Can I use BlogHer and Google Adsense at equal time?

I am new to blogging, and have signed up for now to use Google Adsense. When I'm more established, I'd really approaching to use BlogHer or possibly Foodbuzz--can I have ads from different companies on my blog at the same time, or is it an exclusive concordat? Also, if anyone has recommendations on good books (ie Blogging for Dummies) to support me get things off the ground, help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I recommend wordpress and blogger, but I don't believe you can use your own adsense on wordpress, but its possible on blogger.
